The east coast car scene is a volatile one. Any given weekend there is some sort of show going on - the vintage VW scene on the eastern seaboard here has a show nearly every weekend this summer somewhere within a reasonable driving distance. Occasionally there will be a kit or two there (other than mine), but overall I think the kit industry, at least for vintage VW, is finished. Since there are only a handful of manufacturers to make kits for a VW chassis (Dave is the only non-buggy style kit), interest in them has dropped dramatically. The generation today doesn't want 40 year old technology - they want the fuel injected, computerized monocoque chassis vehicles that they can simply bolt on aftermarket parts to. And they hate it when I'm at a local show sitting next to some 'Fast and Furious' ricer and my car gets all the attention....
So much for 40 year old technology....
