| Owners' Car Showcase |
Welcome to the Showcase of Members' Cars! These cars are not for sale. Rather, the showcase represents a place where any owner of a Sterling, Sebring, Cimbria (Nova, Erueka, Eagle, etc.) can very easily display their car -- whether it is a raw project, a daily driver, or a perfect show car. Additionally, once you add your car to the showcase, you can easily create a "Builder's Journal" for your project including text, photos, video or whatever information you want to share about your car. Whether you have a finished car or a project, please take the time to post your car and have it be counted in the ongoing saga.

Most of the folks here know this car from the UK forums. Once owned by Norm Rose, then CCC owner, the car is a full custom, formed from a main body shell and a sectioned shell placed over top. Interior dimensions are the same as a series 1 car, but the exterior has clues from the later GT's - slotted rear air intakes, pop-up lights and the GT dashboard. Oddly, the wrap-around section of the dash is not present. The current motor is a 171ci Ford that supposedly was built by one of the aftermarket builders of the day. I have absolutely no way to confirm this; my interview with Norm has yet to happen. The transaxle is from an early '70's Audi 100, complete with inboard brakes. I've acquired the car from a club member several years ago when he got cash-strapped, and unfortunately it's been sitting ever since. I've been picking at it when I get free moments, which aren't too many! First order of business is to remove the body and get to the chassis. While in good shape, the floorboards (made from a pickup bed!) are beat, and I just generally need to replace everything that needs replaced (brake lines, anything rubber, stuff like that). The next order is to pull the engine and transaxle. I'm going to get the tranny looked at and rebuilt; the engine...not so sure. It's a big lump that intrudes into the passanger compartment...I would like to put a supercharged 3800 GM engine in, but I have to see what sort of modified adapter plate I would need to do that.
