Can somebody tell me if there is a complete rebuild kit available for my new engine or do I have to get all the pieces individually?

What is your idea of a complete rebuild kit??

ACC-C10-5000 - STOCK STROKE ENGINE REBUILD KIT (WITH 100% ALL NEW PARTS) - ALL BEETLE STYLE 15-1600CC ENGINES (SHIPPING CHARGES APPLY)

Personally I would piece it together. That way you get the parts you want at the quality you want.

Err.. yes, what's your idea of "complete"? Typically a "complete" kit will include cylinders and pistons: Type 4 Bus 1700cc, 1800cc or 2000cc Engine Rebuild Kit for VW Volkswagen Type 2 1972-1975 and 1976-1979. 1700cc and 1800cc engine rebuild kits for VW Volkswagen. This is an engine kit for Type 2 VW Volkswagen Bus 1972-1975 with 1700cc, 1800cc or 2000

A gasket kit is something different: Mofoco VW Engine Gaskets & Seals

On a type 4, really the only thing you need to be concerned about are the valves. Pulling the heads and having those redone (or, purchase new heads) with fresh valves and valvetrain components go a long way.
