4-5 years ago Nic helped me out getting the right size orifice for spraying gel coat. Since then I bought a gel coat gun but there are times when the work is to small to use it so after seeing what makes this gun tic I thought I'd try my hand at modifying a cheap spray gun from harbor freight.
Cost of the gun is around $16.
The gun comes with a 1.5mm nozzle. That was drilled out to a 2.0mm nozzle.
Then the needle was cut back so the gel coat had a clear shot coming out. The gel coat gun that I bought has no needle at all in it and yes the gel coat will leak out when the gun is not in use so in between spraying you need to plug the hole with your finger to stop it from dripping out.
