Drop spindles

OK I need to find out if 2 1/2" drop spindles will be enough to lower the front or do I still need to cut the tubes and put in the adjusters??

Come on people I know there's more than just a couple of guys here that know stuff.
What did you do to lower the front??

I'm leaning towards just the drop spindles and hoping that will do

True, but the overall active member list is small at the moment. If you haven't joined at the Nova forums, do so and you'll find a much more diverse membership.

As for the drop spindles, you won't need to cut the beam. I'm actually surprised you need to lower the front at all - most owners have the tires rubbing as they sit stock. Double check everything - including the rear suspension settings - before committing to changing the front end.

Since I didn't build this from the start I don't know how it sat with the stock suspension. What I do know is it had 4 torsion leafs removed[ I have 6 leafs in each tube. (4 large and 2 halfs)] from each tube so I'm basing my judgement on that and how it sat with those torsion leafs removed. Its going to get a full set of all new torsion leafs so I know it will sit higher than it did. How much though I don't know.
I'm trying to avoid having to take it apart twice. If I can get it right the first time that'll make me happy.
So on your car it sits ok at stock height with no lowering? What size tires are you using??

I need to order the parts to rebuild the front end and I'm going to put disk brakes on it all so. I'm just trying to figure out what I need for the order. I figured to get the spindles with the caliber mounts all ready cast into them and with that in mind I have an option of stock height or lowered.

adjusters are nice but like Rick said may not be needed. I own a couple of Sebrings and they sit nice without lowering - but while I was at it I went with adjusters just for fine tuning!

Drop spindles would be to much but the adjusters are for fine tunning. I'll order a set of the adjusters

I'll ultimately need to switch from drums to disks, on a non-adjustable front end. It sit's nice now, but how do I know if the drums are lowered vs. stock?

You won't just looking at the drums. The spindles tell the tail - a stock spindle has the spindle about halfway between the two ball joints. A lowered spindle is almost even with the top ball mount.

I have had several lowered pickup in the past and have always used drop spindles. Love them because when you get a front end alignment you use stock calibrations.

As far as drum or disks makes no difference the stock backing bolts up the same way.

If you want to drop it and you want to add disk new spindles are the way to go. Saves$$$ that way
