Failed

Yes, my hydraulic canopy has failed in the past. Not a problem for me. One of the first things that I did was fiberglass some nuts into the edge of the windows where the original mountings were. I then used thumb screws (bolts) to hold the window hinges. When the top failed, I just used my fingers to unscrew the hinges, pop out the window glass and climb out the window opening. I now also have a removable sunroof, so I could exit from there too, but I would probably still go out the window. I will let you know if it happens again. As a side note, I made nice black vinyl covers with a velcro flap to hold the windows when they are stored behind the seats.

When the windows are back there, nothing else will be in there with them, that is for sure. They go in at an angle like crossed swords.

In hindsight, I should have wiped off the cobwebs and maybe done a little detailing. :D

There really isn't much to it. I dug out the inside of the window channel to allow a nut to be embedded. I then fiberglassed it in. I also ground down the wingnuts on the window glass so that they can be easily removed. I remove the hinges before the glass goes into the vinyl pouches. I took pictures of the thumb screw (bolt), wing nuts, pouch and a close up of the velcro.

Do you have any kind of mounting system for when the windows are behind the seats? That's what I was hoping to see. :)

Oops. Sorry, I misunderstood. Nope, no mountings behind the seats. They just lay there at an angle. It would not be too hard to bend a few brackets though.
