Heres a video of the Holden hurricane. It include really nice footage of the interior, and drivetrain.

Probably the nicest video of this car Ive seen yet.

Notice that it appears to use a GM steering column rotated 180 degrees? the key is on the left and turns backwards, towards the driver. I wonder exactly why...must have something to do with the fact that the steering column rises along with the canopy...

I hadn't noticed that. That is curious. Only thing I can POSSIBLY think of is the mounting tabs for the column are on the top side of the column, so maybe flipping it gave more room under the dash?

Sorry about digging up a old topic, but I believe I read somewhere the reason they flipped the steering column was so that the tilt was up, so all they then had to do was to add actuators to automate the process of elevating the steering column to get into/out of the car.

;)
