how to set the track on irs

The previous owner said the last time he drove the car he jumped a curb and high centered it.

Well it appears that the drivers side rear tire is off centered in the wheel well. Also when you stand back and look at it. It appears out of center.

I am going to measure from the center of each tire to find out it the track is really off.

I just want to now if it is adjustable. The camber is visually off as well on that wheel.*idea didn't work*

Oh boy... if he smacked it that hard there may be other underlying problems, but the only adjustment you have at the rear is toe in/out. The four big bolts that hold the spring plates together can be loosened and the entire trailing arm moved to obtain the correct setting. The bolt holes are slotted so there is a little adjustment fore and aft. Camber is adjusted with the torsion bars, but see if you can get the arm centered first. Let's hope he didn't bend one of the trailing arms!

And Dale, buy a Bentley manual for your year chassis. It'll give you all the data for setting the correct degrees for the suspension.

It seems to drive straight but that does not mean its still in alignment. Although on a hard launch it consistently kicks the passenger rear out and fish tails to the right( only done it three times ) but it seems consistent
And it may be the body but the other 3 tires are centered in the wheel wells.

I will find the manual.... I have not heard of a bentley manual.
where is a good source for them

I also just got a super beetle pan for parts it also has and engine and trans freee*rock on*

Its a roller so i got extra trailing arms if i need them.

Yeah, that's my fear. But a quick look would confirm if there's a dent in the tube or not.
