I was out washing S009 today and a young gas company employee was out doing his route, and he noticed me washing the car.

Totally intrigued with the car it sparked a conversation on projects he was working on.
The most interesting thing about our talk was he had no clue what a kit car was.

With the world at your fingertips (internet) and having knowledge of cars he didn't know what a kit car was.

I guess kit cars are getting buried in the pages of history.

There's just not the exposure that there was decades ago. Kit specific shows are long gone. Kit manufacturers don't advertise in the usual media, so the idea of a 'kit' is absolutely foreign to this generation.

Over here in France, it's even more pronounced. Even at car shows when I tell car people that are my age that I have a kit car, they look at me quizzically. It just wasn't (and still isn't) a big thing over here.
