Very cool. The only major flaw I saw in the build, was the fact that they left stock vw trans. There is no way it will last.

I never saw any mention of the transmission except for the clutch and flywheel adapter. Granted, I didn't sit through the entire thing, but skipped scene to scene. If it was never mentioned, there's no guarantee one way or the other that the trans is still stock. Since everything was painted silver, even the front mount (*oh my*), that tells me the trans was out at one point.

Even still, a stock trans can handle quite a bit - Fuzz can attest to that. But if they're going to be drag racing it, yes, first gear will be the first to go... unless they are launching from second.

I'll have to remember to come back and watch this. I haven't watched anything by these guys for ages. They're fairly local to me (well, they're about 1 to 1.5 hours away from me), which is always cool.

That engine is awesome! dread to think what is cost. *nothing to see* and what about chassis, suspension, brakes,? No way would I trust that sort of power to a box standard 1303.

I was always given to believe the maximum safe power input to a VW 1302/3 gearbox for road use was about the 125 HP mark or about 90Kw, so I don't think 320hp or 240Kw would last past the front drive. I even bust my original '66 1300 box with a mild tweaked 1600 engine, hence the 1303 one.

One reason I have tweaked my 1641 to about 110 to 120 HP is reliability and the limitations on the gearbox, even with the Kennedy 1700 clutch and comp plate in a 12Lb balanced flywheel with all the comp parts I'm not going to drag race it.
