Nissan Micra

Today I was out with the wife, and saw a Nissan Micra. Apparently Nissan felt the need to compete with the Fiat 500 for the smallest car on the road.

Now this car looks as small, if not smaller than the Fiat 500. Though its brand new for 2015, once a few of these hit the wrecking yards I really think this might be a great donor for a Sterling Dash board.

The OEM dash might need a little trimming along its bottom, to fit in a sterling, but Im pretty sure the width would be right up our alley. This would also need a filler plate made to fill the different raduis of our windshield, but again this is minor stuff. Id be interested to see if someone was able to get measurements on this dash.

Anyway, just tossin ideas out there!
I think just about all of us would like to have a more OEM looking interior. The interior of a car is just as important as the exterior. And the Sterling especially fails in that regard.

You keep saying that Yaughn, but you also fail to recognize the car was designed 45 years ago and was meant to be beach-buggy simple, not a world class comfy car.

Well try, yes, of course. But your statement made it sound as if it was a design failure from the beginning. Heck, even my Vette has exposed screw heads and isn't much more sophisticated with the interior than the Sterling!

Mine is,*na-na-na* but I try to keep it in period with a hi-tech edge, it will never be that 2015 'vette I love, not enough width to get the curve right anyway, yes I did try,*idea didn't work* but a good simple design done well beats a complex modern one done badly.(GO Brett) *rock on* But,each unto their own. A Stirling with a Nissan dash would look just that, a Stirling with a Nissan dash .*humpf*

I personally don't believe in taking a complete dash from another car and sticking in the sterling. I like to mix it up.

With that said, in the first photo I could see using that center section with all of the controls and vents in it and building something off of that.

That would be cool if done right, but the cost of acquiring that section would probably stop the building of it.
