With the primier of the first Batman movie the wife and I decided to go, and of course decided to take the sterling-----
As we approach the movie theater which was down town we realize that it seems like everyone else in town has had the same idea, and that the line to get in is halfway around the block! Needless to say the only parking space left is right across from the theater where someone is just leaving. So we park---- and as I raise the top, almost everyone in line, starts going in a loud voice and in unison--- duna, duna, duna, duna, BATMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *rock on*

Moral of story-- If you don't want attention, don't drive a sterling!

Yes, sir. You've touched on one of the fundemental realities of owning/driving these cars. I have never realized how anonymous --- how gloriously anonymous --- we are in our plain Jane daily drivers. I used to WANT to drive my Sterling down onto University of Pittsburgh's campus, but parking there is notoriously insane. In a normal car, you can kind of deal with the social awkwardness of cutting across four lanes an performing a fast-and-sloppy parallel-park. But in a Sterling...there is ALWAYS an audience. Don't blow a parking job! Don't grind the gears! And whatever you do, don't pick your nose at a traffic light! :D

But yeah, I've had people call it the batmobile on just any random occasion. To be AT an actual screening of a Batman movie must had been hilarious. I have no doubt they thought that somehow you were a celebrity.

You remembered to not pick you nose, didn't you? *laugh*

That would have been neat to see for the first time!
And yes with the trailer showing the roof slide open on the batmobile, Im sure when they saw the roof lift off, they all freaked waiting for the masked crusader to jump out with lil buddy. Too bad you didnt rent a bat suit for the occasion.

Warren had mentioned I should do that with my Vader costume at a star wars event. LOL I dont think the costume would fit in the car, on top of being able to see. Plus any cop in the area would pull my butt over wearing that mask in the car. talk about failing a rock star moment,... getting pulled over in front of an admiring crowd, would require a large FAILED poster! LOL
