WARNING!!! Minor "Skyfall" spoiler alert at the link!
3ders.org - voxeljet builds Aston Martin models for James Bond film Skyfall | 3D Printing news

Now, for those of you that clicked ahead and read the link, just think how easy our customizing jobs would be if we could just design a body panel (or entire monocoque body) in CAD and then simply click "Print". *thumbs up*

Note: I definitely squirmed in my seat when watching "Skyfall" and I saw the DB5's horrible "fate"...fooled me!

Pretty cool! That would have been a fun project to work on... who knew they still used models for special effects since CGI took over?

I am actually planning on making parts this way.
there is a whole home brew 3d printer community.
most of the home 3d printers are scalable so in theory you could build a car shell right now.

this is the one I was thinking of buying to either build parts or mold for parts.
The finished product will be nothing like those cars but with a sanding and polishing it can be done.
Or if you have a few grand you can get this one.
