Anybody looking for a "rearview mirror" style digital display and camera system may want to look into this model:

So far I've just played with it a bit in the shop, but it looks pretty cool. The entire mirror is also a video display and you can switch between front and rear views with just a swipe of your finger across the touchscreen. You CAN connect a dedicated wire into your reverse light circuit, OR just "swipe" to switch into reverse camera mode. Super easy!
Plus, the best feature for our cars is the length of the included wires: LOOOOOONG! more than enough to run from the back end of the car, thru the body and up into the canopy! Kinda ridiculous how long the wire is, but I think they intended it for use with trucks. And ONE wire carries both signal and power from the mirror to the camera, so no patching into the fuseblock required!
Well, unless you CHOOSE to do so like I did. Then but the direct wiring kit so you don't have to always plug it into a 12v power outlet:
