Not that you'll do this but I found that alot of parts from subarus other engines will bolt right on to the engine I have.

So you may be able to swap a lower profile intake from other engines.

Something to keep in mind as you do the swap and if something isn't working you can look at other subarus

OK provisional donor acquired Subaru Legacy 2.0L GL AWD







I'm still tempted to get a 2004 model with the later dash and gauges......lets see, but at least I have a backstop now waiting for me when I get to the UK next.

Funny though. Back in I think 09 I bought almost that exact same car for 60 bucks from a neighbor. It had a blown headgasket.
I later donated the motor to my college once I had the WRX engine.
