I thought I did a write up on this but couldn't find it.
I've seen some pretty ugly wiring jobs so with my car I wanted it as close as possible to oem including the wiring as possible.
Well after comparing oem wiring to what other kit car builders were using I found no oem harness used butt connectors, solder joints or wiring nuts. What they did use for splicing wires together were open barrel connectors.
So I traced down who carried them and ordered a good supply of them.
They come in different sizes for different gauges of wire. This size is for 16-14 gauge wire
You break off each one from the strip
Strip the wires back
Place them in the connector
holding the wires in place you use the special crimping tool
Done. Now you use shrink tubing to seal the connection. I used an adhesive lined shrink tubing. If interested in the exact type let me know and I'll look it up
