Got in such a hurry to get them to the tire store before they close that I forgot to make sure they fit and clear everything.
I guess I'll find out later today when I get them back. It's going to suck if there's an interference issue.

Got the license plate opening made along with the insert that goes into it.
It still needs a little work but the worst is done.
As soon as it starts to look like something I'll post some pictures.

Share some photos with the wheels installed.

I would but that would reveal the work on the back and it's not ready yet:D

I have the granddaughter today and tomorrow so no work will get done on the back till saturday. I'm hoping to have enough done on the back by sunday to show the new looks so you'll have to wait till then for pictures on the wheels. Sorry

After a lengthy talk yesterday with the wife on the direction that the back was going we both agreed that some of the detailed stuff that I was going to do will be deleted and that moved up the mock up stage. I'll warn you right now it's not high tech exotic looking, but I think the lines look good with the rest of the car and it does give it a more modern look(I think)

So with all that being said, unless something comes up Sunday will be the soonest that you'll see pictures.

Got to go, granddaughter will be here soon and I need to get stuff ready.

I like the detailing on the bottom section, I assume you will cut out the parts in between the support looking sections ?

Does it go low enough to cover the sump of the scoobie motor?

I guess once the lights are in the overall appearance will be more complete and give an overall better visualization.

Yes those areas get cut out

Not completely but better than the stock one did.

That still is not a done deal as to how those are going to be installed.
Right now I have installed a set of backup lights in the center of the top section. Not really satisfied with it but thats where they are now.

There is no defined direction as to where I'm going with this. I'm just trying out different things and seeing how it looks.

I've tried cut and pasting parts of other cars on but nothing looks right when you look at the whole car with the mod, so I'm just making it up as I go. Thats why it's taking so long to complete

nice work brett!
I look forward to seeing more!
Thanks Yaughn
I'm curious to how it will end up also

It's not fancy or exotic looking I know. I was hoping it would turn out better looking. This is the third attempt at making the back. The other two tries looked really bad and I ended up just cutting it all off and starting over

Know where you're at Brett, I have been kicking ideas about regards hiding the exhaust header without making it look like that's what I have done. small mesh panel and some defuser ideas but let me get the rest done first. Suck it and see is the way to go.*idea didn't work*

Work still needs to be done to it so you mine as well wait till its finished before you start criticizing it and tearing it apart.

Exhaust needs to be cut and relocated to match the openings.

Center section is about 1" lower than stock and the exhaust is about 3" lower than stock.

Backup light is located in the upper section. I tried locating it in the lower section but nothing seemed to look right(and as stated earlier I'm not to happy about it being where it's at now).

You know what they say, Brett, "Fat-bottom girls they make the rocking' world go round." *laugh*

As for the back-up light, have you seen the back-up lights on the new-style Camaro? Sweet little rectangles about 1" by 2". There may not have been many to make it to the salvage yard yet, but I wouldn't think they would be too expensive, and they're very unobtrusive.

Funny how different minds create an image. I'm seeing the reverse lights from a '90's Vette flanking the license holder:

Nice job on the valance, I only hope my 'add-on' will look so good.*rock on*

A pair of inexpensive daylight running lights would fit the bill.

Mind you even with a pair of 7" spot lights you wouldn't see much out the rear anyway, *laugh* best to rely on sensors for reversing.*thumbs up*

IMHO I think with the 'booty' now on the rear lights now look too small in balance but that's just me.*insane*

I had the same effect when I fitted the MkII Golf bumper and the standard 'trailer' lamps, so I went for the GM Cavalier set which has been done by a few now.*nothing to see*
