One day in my journeys too the pick a part yard I saw this tail light in the junk bin that the yard has as you walk in. I guess thats where they put stuff that once people find out how much it costs they say "keep it" so it goes there. Anyway the tail light sat in the bumper of a 2000 land rover discovery.

The size looked like it would be perfect for installing it into the upper section of the car for brake lights. Measures 3.5"X10 3/4"
The only problem is that the red light is just a tail light. So how to make this work as a brake/tail light.
My solution was. Since I'm using subaru wiring in the car why not use the twist and lock sockets of the subaru.
Somebody tried to tint the light and it was broken but I didn't care I just wanted to see if I could use it plus since it was no good the yard gave it to me for free

The back section snaps onto the main body

Picture of it apart

Another angle of it apart

I ground down the plastic tabs holding on the circuit plates on and then I ground the sockets flush to the body of the back plate

I made a template of the subaru socket opening

New openings cut

Subaru bulb harness for the brake/running/blinkers

Subaru bulbs installed in the land rover tail light

I guess now I need to find a good set of Land Rover tail lights. I checked out ebay. Those people must be on drugs or something. The yards here want $16. On ebay some people want as much as $100. They can keep them for that much. Thats crazy
