What's new

well if no one else will...

It's been awhile... life got in the way.... But I bought mine as a project and a wreck for $2000 under the condition that we could get the motor started... pushed it to my garage, hooked up an auxiliary tank and hot wired it.... it ran, well, good enough to know that the engine would need some work but it ran... and one thing I know for sure, you better count on doing the work yourself at the price of labor these days but that is half the fun.... learning... and I got an education about working with fiberglass.... I did pay a pro to go through the motor and install electronic ignition..... Otherwise everything else was done by me over the course of four winters.... YouTube videos really help... Biggest issue I have had is the electrical and as someone else said, too many bells and whistles for the cool look and the wow factor.... It makes troubleshooting a lot more difficult.... I also don't drive it like I used to... If I get in and drive it two/three times a year I am doing well.... Getting in and out is becoming more difficult.... age.... as far as what it's worth, I have it insured for $5000.... agreed upon value... I thought about selling it but I think I would have to find the right buyer to get $5000 and money isn't the issue anymore... Just owning a car that is rare enough to where people ask "what is it" and "how fast does it go" it still worth the price.... Also, it is now a 20 footer with a lot of blemishes from time.... Lately it has crossed my mind to trade it for a more conventional street rod car.... older Chevy... whatever.... if anyone is interested in a trade... and near Minnesota... PS... the latest project when fall comes and it is nice enough to figure a few things out is to troubleshoot why the linear actuators have slowed down... contacted the company and have several email conversations with their people and also the original designer of the system to get his two cents.... and will need to check a whole bunch of voltage drop connections tracing it back from the linear actuators to the relays... and strongly suspect bad older wiring connections and the always present ground problems on a fiberglass car..... enough.... time for a nap....
