Where can I find upper side scoops like many have on the eagle ss

I really like the late 70's Lamborghini look of the eagle ss upper scopes. Any idea where to find a set? Are they just universal scoops?

Here are a couple of scoops. Not quite like the eagle and I am sure any of them will need slightly modified. The first one is a hood scoop from a 70 Dodge Dart Demon. The second is a scoop that covers the side window on a fiero. The last one is a side scoop for a shelby mustang. This is off the car from gone in 60 seconds "Eleanor".

Yup, there were a standard option from the second model onwards. They don't often come up for sale second hand though. I should point out, just like the rest of the car, they tend to be asymmetrical, that is, one is bigger than the other (that's what she said! lol). That said however, one of the Eureka club members made molds, and improved upon the design. Originally their is just lip on the inside of the intake that you can use to bolt/screw/tape it to the body work. What he's done is made it into a two part design (I think I remember that correctly). There's a base plate that will fit into the 'scolloped' intake in the body tub, and the top half which you can fasten to the base plate. That means that the new air intake will fit into the existing intake, which you can then secure through the body work inside the original air intake, or even by using something like a section of pvc pipe and securing that to the new air intake so you don't have to drill/screw through the body tub. Also, The fit to the top of the body tub is much cleaner/smoother, and would help channel more air into the body tub to be ducted to where ever you want/need it.

Another thing to point out, shipping between Oz and the rest of the Known World isn't cheap. As a (poor) example, I'm getting a new fuel sender shipped out from the US of A, and that set me back $27 USD for the shipping alone.

If interested, I can try get in contact with the member who made the redesigned 'elephant ear' intakes. He doesn't tend to post a lot on the forums, and so it can take a while to get a set of intakes made up.

I act as the International contact point for the car club anyway, so I don't mind doing the 'footwork' on this side of the pond.

Thanks Rick. Those eureka ones are exactly what I wanted but I didn't know they made those. Now I just need to find a set.

P.s. I chose this picture for the car! *thumbs up*

Sorry you posted while I was exploring the Eureka site. Those scopes are awesome. If you don't mind asking that member what he would want to make a set that would be much appreciated. I really think those scoops with the side skirts I'm putting on the sebring would give the car a great Lamborghini / ferrari look.

Thanks
Brian

Just as well the guys came up with options as the scoops on the SS are part of the car not an add on. *thumbs up* From new they are blanked off and most leave them that way but mine are right to engine fan intake, left to oil cooler fan. same for the 'gills' on the lower nose which I have used for DRLs.

The one with the blonde drapped over the car belongs to the current Eureka club president, but the blonde isn't around any more. The green one belongs to a guy who goes by the handle Slug. lol

The two I posted are of my car, which is why I posted them. lol

I sent a message to the guy who made those elephant ear intakes, and also asked him if I was right in remembering how he modified them. Also looked though our forums, and found he was offering $250 AUD for the pair, plus shipping. Shipping, as I mentioned, will be expensive. Another example, I got a silicone seal from Dan over at Euro Nova, like some of you guys did. I was the only one in Oz to get them, and the shipping from the UK to me here in Oz was around £34!!

When I get a response back from him, I'll let you know if he's willing to make you up a set. ;)

You mean to tell me that girls don't come with these cars?*whaah*

Ranger, i'm pretty sure Dave still has some intake scoops. They are nowhere near the size of the elephant ears, nowhere the price tag either.

The ones Dave has are nice but the sebring doesn't have the body scoops that the sterling does. the sebring looks like the curves were stolen from a corvette of the same era. So I would have to form an opening like the sterling and them use the half moon scoop. Not sure it would go with the boxier look of the car. I'm in the process of gathering fiberglass supply's now to get working on the wing and side skirts. Once those are mocked up ill be able to look at it and know for sure what will work. but I wanted to find out what's available and works with other cars in the "family."

I really do like the elephant ear scoops (as you called them) and I couldn't find any sebrings with scoop mods of any kind. So if I can pull it off I should have a unique looking sebring.

I have to admit I am second guessing the 2.8L motor too if this things going to look like a Ferrari....

Not my car but my top is up until I get around to requiring it and I needed a good angle. What do you guys think of the mustang side scoop?

I like the ones that Bob posted up. That would be an interesting and neat change to do, especially if you got really creative and put them on actuators a'la the Murcielago for engine cooling...

Cyco does he have any pictures of the scoops if they are different from what's on your car?

I haven't seen any photos of the scoops he's done, but I don't think they'd look anything different than what's on my car. And chances he's done (again, if I'm right in remembering he modified the design), would be 'under the skin', ie; how it fits to the car, not the looks.
