Never seen it before. Looks a little bit like one that was for sale in Virginia a few years back. And damn that's a crappy and annoying website...

That car ended up in Europe and it is now a red color. I almost bought it when it was in NY, but decided against it.

He basically said, there were way too many blindspots and the handling was like a go-kart with a Buick engine.

Good find on that build thread, Sector. I had completely forgotten about it. But yeah... the original builder of the car seemed to like to take chances on changing items on the VW chassis to "make things work". Never a good idea with extra weight hanging off the transaxle. Leads to bad polar moments in corners. And of course there were blind spots! What did he expect?
