I was sooo close to getting a Montage at one time. Before I got the Sterling I was looking at one but you couldn't get the glass for it so then I started looking at the Sterling
Have to agree with frodos737 they ruined a beautiful car.

Correct me if I'm wrong but glass for 90% of kit cars is hard to come by without a fat wallet isnt it?

You're not wrong. Rare windshields are expensive. I'm just so very glad we can still get them. I remember back in [who knows what year it was] when I heard that Mike McBride of Solid Sterling was retiring from providing replacement parts. I had a moment of sheer panic upon thinking that if ANYTHING ever happened to my windshield, the entire car would essentially be over. It would be un-inspectable and un-usable. But then Dave took over the company and we had a source for another few years. And we can still get them today. Yeah, I wish they were less expensive. But man am I glad they still exists.

Custom cut glass is expensive. Custom cut glass with curved edges is more expensive. Custom glass with a curved plane is even more expensive. DOT approved laminated custom glass with curved edges and a curved plane is...a rare gem worth saving up for.
